I recently leased an HP mini 1000 running Windows 7 and I found that the internal microphone was not recording.After researching the issue, I found it was a driver issue.
I resolved this issue by opening Windows Update then I placed a check mark next to IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. Installing this update resolved my issue and I can now use the internal microphone with applications such as skype.
